We've had a busy past week and Sydney has had lots of first. She started smiling, moving her head to follow us or a toy and is starting to find her voice, which has resulted in numerous cute little noises. She's still waking up twice at night to eat, but we're hoping that tapers off to just once before too long. Until then, I'm somehow surviving on 4-5 hours of sleep, but convinced it has to catch up with me before too long!
At her one month checkup she weighed 8 lbs (25th percentile) and was 21 inches long (50th percentile). She's finally starting to fill out her clothes so we have lots more outfits to choose from. She also got her first shot since leaving the hospital. It was the hardest she's cried yet, but luckily only lasted for a minute. Other than developing some baby acne and cradle cap (I think it hurts us more than it hurts her), she looks and is doing great. Her next checkup is at two months so we'll be anxious to see how much she's changed.
This past weekend, Jennifer's Uncle Steve and Aunt Nancy were in town visiting from Chapel Hill. They got to meet Sydney and, lucky for them, Vandy too. This weekend, the whole family is headed to Knoxville for Sydney and Vandy's first trip away from home. We're hoping she sleeps the entire way and Vandy doesn't throw up the entire way. We've been working to break him of motion sickness, but it's been a painfully long process.

Jennifer she is COOOOOOO Cute and has gotten so big and alert in the last week or so! Vandy is pretty cute too, but I don't know that Sydney is abolutely adorable! She definitely has your big eyes! Enjoy the time at the beach house with everyone! XO Great A. Jerri
