Week Four and Brian and Megan's Visit

My leave time is officially 1/3 of the way over. The last four weeks have gone by so fast and Sydney has changed so much since we brought her home from the hospital. She still has no regular schedule, which actually works well since it allows me to plan her feedings around our activities. As long as she has a full belly, she does great in the car and great out in public so we have taken her to lunch and dinner several times, to the grocery store, mall and random other errands. It's so refreshing to be able to get out of the house a few times a week, especially now that my days are all starting to run together.

Vandy finished up his second week of daycare and loves it more and more each day. We are sending him three days a week (Tuesday, Thursday and Friday) but I pick him up mid-afternoon since he still seems a little young and in need of too many naps to endure a full day. Our goal each morning is for him to not throw up on the way, which we have succeeded at the last two trips. Of course, it comes at the price of painfully slow driving, rolling stops and agitated drivers behind us, but well worth avoiding cleaning up soggy, undigested dog food, which Vandy manages to get all over himself and the car.

Uncle Brian and Megan came to visit us and Sydney this weekend. Sydney was a trooper with all the eating out and driving around we did. She was on such good behavior, maybe we'll be able to talk them into babysitting for us sometime! On Sunday, we drove to Caribou instead of our normal walk because of the rain. Afterwards, Brian decided to jog the 1.2 miles home. We thought he was joking. We had enough time to drive home, grab the camera and catch it all on film. Otherwise, no one would have believed us. Who runs in a polo, dress shorts and a belt and on a full stomach???
