We arrived in Miami yesterday evening....actually, I arrived in Miami yesterday evening. Jeff didn't arrive until 1am this morning. His luck of arriving 30 mins before his scheduled flight has finally worn out. He missed his flight from Nashville and had to take the late flight out of Charlotte. But all worked out and it gave me time to unpack, order a little room service and watch American Idol.
Our first day in Miami was fun and relaxing. We started out with a walk up Ocean Drive, ate breakfast on the way and then spent the afternoon out at the beach. The sun is quite strong down here and even with SPF 30 on and plenty of time under the unbrella, we both managed to get a little color. The hotel is nice, but boutique like just about everything down here. There's a public beach next door and yes, it's spring break for a lot of people. It's definitely noticeable that tourism is way down, but alcohol sales stay strong!
