Growing Up!

It's hard to believe Sydney is going on 10 months. Everyone says it's amazing how much babies change in the first year....and it really is amazing. Sydney has taken on a lot of new talents the last couple of months. She has mastered army crawling and gets around quite easily and quickly. She knows how to "real" crawl, but hasn't quite figured out that it's quicker to move around on all fours so goes a few feet and then plops down on her belly. She started pulling up in her crib and then on furniture last week, but still a little unsteady and not taking any steps yet. We're in no rush for her to be too mobile too soon!

She remains excellent in the eating department and will consume just about anything you put in front of her. Makes going out to eat a ton easier and more enjoyable now that I don't have to lug around baby food and she can eat right off my plate. Tonight we met Jeff for a quick dinner at Moe's (Mexican) and she had beans and rice, chicken and guacamole. So far, Italian seems to be her favorite. She loves chicken and pasta in marinara sauce. She also loves Chick Fil A chicken nuggets (who doesn't?) and I gave her a couple licks of their soft serve ice cream and she sat there with her tongue stretched out asking for more.

She loves watching and interacting with people...both adults and children. And people love that she flashes them a big warm smile. Vandy remains her favorite playmate....although we're not too sure that he shares the same feelings. But he tolerates her screeches every time she seems him, the patting of his head and pulling on his eyes, ears and mouth. She continues to be a happy, healthy baby and a ton of fun!

Her stats from her 9-month check-up: 16 lbs (10-25th percentile), 27 1/2 inches (50-75th percentile); 44 cms head circumference (50-75th percentile). She thanks her daddy for that noggin!
