The Life of a Puppy

Vandy has had a fun-filled last three weeks. Jeff and I, on the other hand, have had a mini-introduction to parenthood, especially when it comes to the 5:30am - 6am wake-up calls each morning. Even though puppies are a lot of work, we've had a great time watching Vandy grow like a weed and develop his own unique personality.

Vandy now weights almost 17 lbs. He was around 10 lbs when we brought him home. He's definitely getting harder for me to pick up, but he loves to be cuddled, especially after a nap, so it's hard to resist. He's always been able to go up stairs, but he's finally learned to walk down them on his own. We still come home every day at lunch and I've started working at home on Fridays and usually one other afternoon during the week. We did have to buy a dog pen for the living room since it's hard to watch after him every minute of the day, especially when we're trying to work.

Vandy had a big weekend. We went to our friends Amy and Ariel's for dinner and Vandy and Pato (their black lab) played for hours in the backyard. It was his first "socialization" play date since we got him. He was nervous at first, but quickly warmed up and had a great time. He was so exhausted that he fell asleep on the way home and never fully woke back up until the next morning. Wish we could do that everyday!
