Bobcats Pre-Season Home Game!

We had a jam-packed weekend and some beautiful weather to go along with it. On Friday night, we visited with our friends Ariel and Amy and their 18-month old daughter, Lucia. Ariel, who Jeff started with two years ago when he joined his group, recently left Wachovia to join a healthcare company in their business development group. Talk about timing!

Saturday was the first evening pre-season game for the Bobcats. We saw Larry Brown (our new coach) and our #1 draft pick DJ Augustin. Although the Bobcats aren't looking too hot at 0-6, they played a good game against the Hawks and we are looking forward to the season home opener on Saturday, November 1st. Let's hope for a strong season (maybe even the playoffs!) or attendance is going to be hurting next year. We've included a few photos from the game.

On Sunday, we took a drive to Raleigh to attend an open house put on by the dog breeder we are working through. We learned of a bit of disappointing news. The female dog (the one that looks like Cooper) did not go into season back in September as expected (information that would have been nice to know prior to Sunday!). However, she is expected to go into heat soon with a litter that would be ready the end of March. Another British Retriever is currently pregnant by the same father and those puppies will be ready at the end of January. We have been given 2nd pick male (behind the breeders who will be taking 1st pick) if we chose to go with this litter instead. We also learned that the British Retriever is shorter than expected. In fact, a true British is a little shorter than a pure Golden. We were hoping for another dog close to Cooper's height, so we are considering our options, another of which is a Golden Pyrenees (mother is Golden Retriever and father is a Great Pyrenees) through a ranch in Montana. We plan to spend some time next weekend talking about what we want to do so we'll keep you updated on our decision. We've attached a couple pictures from the open house. Jeff wouldn't let me take any of the dogs (he was too embarrassed).
